Clara C. Tenpas, 99, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday morning, January 6, 2016 at Sunny Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center where she had been residing.
Born July 14, 1916 in Sheboygan county, Clara was a daughter of the late James and Delia Muelbrock Huibregtse. She attended Sheboygan county area schools and graduated from Sheboygan High School. She was united in marriage to Bernard Tenpas.
Clara was a homemaker who worked part time at Sehler's Dress Shop. She was a life long member of Hope Reformed Church, the Ladies Guild and it's Circles. She also was a member of the Bible study group. She volunteered at the Sheboygan Senior Center, Home Spun and the Grandparents Program through the Sheboygan County School District. She enjoyed reading, music and flowers. She also enjoyed special moments and occasions with her grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren plus celebrating special events with her children and their families.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Vivian, Sun City, AZ, and Marjorie (David) Symens, Northfield, MN, her niece, Julie (Steve) Arriens, Sheboygan; nephew, Richard (Ruth) Huibregtse, Waukesha; her son-in-law, Carl (Dorothy) Blok, Oostburg, her grandchildren, Lois (James) Hodgell, Rob (Dawn) Blok, James (Julie) Blok, Lauri (James) Hanson and Tom (Jessica) Symens; great grandchildren, Dale (Karla) Hodgell, Peter (Bethany) Hodgell, Brenda (Tyler) Burdick, Alex Blok, Jordan Blok, Courtney Blok, Trevor Blok, Abby Blok, Caleb (Tara) Hanson, Bethany Hanson, Joey Hanson, Thane Symens and Arden Symens; great great grandchildren, Ella, Adalynn and Reid Hodgell, and Carly Quirt; other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Delores Blok, her brothers, Lester and Peter Huibregtse, her son-in-law, James Vivian, and her former husband, Bernard Tenpas.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Hope Reformed Church, 612 Ontario Avenue. The Rev. William Te Winkel will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in Garden Terrace Mausoleum of Lutheran Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for Hope Reformed Church.
