Claire B. Scheunert, 81, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center.
Born February 13, 1935 in Milwaukee, Claire was a daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth Rogge Hutchinson. She attended Milwaukee area schools and graduated from Rufus King High School in 1953. On May 15, 1971, she was united in marriage to James S. Scheunert in Mequon, WI.
Claire worked for the H.C. Prange Company for many years before her retirement. She also worked with the Sheboygan Welcome Wagon organization. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and the church quilting group. She volunteered her time with St. Nicholas Hospital for many years. She enjoyed reading, knitting and camping but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jim; her children, Greg (Pam) Johns, Sussex, Randy (Kris) Johns, Muskego, Terry (Naomi) Johns, Port Washington, Scott (Julie) Johns, Lakeville, MN, Steve Scheunert, Grand Forks, ND, Jeff (Ann Stone) Scheunert, Sheboygan, Heidi (Kevin) Conto, Caledonia, and Lisa (Cliff Broderick) Liljegren, Butte des Morts; twenty loving grandchildren and three cherished great grandchildren; her loving brother, Bob (Ellen) Hutchinson, Muskego; her sister-in-law, Sue (Ken) Berndt, Cedarburg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services for Claire will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2104 Geele Avenue. The Rev. Kristin Berglund, pastor, will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Nicholas Hospital and Hospice and Rocky Knoll Health Care Center for all of their loving care and support.
