Carl K. Faas, 75, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 29, 2015 at his home.
Born August 7, 1940 in Sheboygan, Carl was a son of the late Carl and Frieda Menzer Faas. He attended area schools and graduated from Central High School in 1958. He then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1962, attaining the rank of Airman 1st Class.
Carl worked at Johnsonville Sausage for many years until his retirement. He previously worked at the Kohler Company for over 25 years. He was a member of the Kohler Quarter Century Club. Carl was a master gardener who enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially at his cabin up north where he would say he had "the best outhouse in Sawyer County." He loved to read and was an avid Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan.
He is survived by his brother, Jerry (Debra) Faas, Tucson, AZ; his sister, Janice Schleinz, Sheboygan; two nephews, Charles Faas and James Faas, both of Tucson, AZ; four nieces, Vicki Faas, Highlands Ranch, CO, Gail (David) Schmeiser, Coleen Schleinz and Jennifer (fiancé Kevin Herbst) Schleinz, all of Sheboygan; his great niece and great nephews, Michelle Faas, Denver, CO, and Jacob, Michael (Jordan Dassler), Adam and Matthew Schmeiser, all of Sheboygan; an Uncle and four Aunts; numerous cousins, many friends and his dog, Cooper. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Harold Schleinz.
Funeral services for Carl will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2016, at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Chaplain Darren Beachy will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place in Lutheran Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
