Bonita Caves Lambrecht

Bonita Caves Lambrecht, 92, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Meadow View Manor in Sheboygan, WI. She was born Bonita Beth Smith on November 5, 1921, to the late John and Lena Haumann Smith of Portage, WI. On January 15, 1944, Bonnie was united in marriage to Byron B. Caves and together they raised four children. Byron passed away July 12, 1972. She is survived by her children: Stephen (Mary Ellen) Caves, Kathleen (Robin) Richter, Karen (Brad) McCallum and Cynthia (David) Ross. Grandchildren include Ryan Caves, Rebecca Caves-Meyer, Matthew Richter, R.J. Richter, Joshua King, Allison King Marts, Angela Ross Keplinger, Luke Ross, Noah Ross and seven great grandchildren. On December 30, 1972, Bonnie married Robert E. Lambrecht. Together, they enjoyed many happy years of traveling the country. Bob preceded her in death on May 27, 2009. She is further survived by her stepson, Robert A. (Barbara) Lambrecht and step-grandchildren Brian, Craig and Christopher Medower and Kelly Lambrecht Taube and six great step-grandchildren. Bonnie's only sibling, Stephen Smith, preceded her in death. She is survived by his wife, Adeline (Becky) Smith and nephew and niece. Bonnie was a member of Unity Christian Fellowship in Sheboygan. She enjoyed reading literature, writing poetry and studying faith-based teachings. Her favorite poem was "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud," by William Wordsworth, which inspired her love of daffodils. She was an avid Scrabble player, and she continued to play with her daughters well into her later years. The family would like to thank the staff of Harmony House, Sheboygan Senior Community, Meadow View Manor and Hospice Advantage for all the loving care they provided in her last years. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. A memorial in Bonnie's name is being established.
