Beulah Sweeney

February 27, 1922 — January 2, 2014

Beulah A. "Grandma Beulah" Sweeney, 91, of Sheboygan, went on a peaceful journey to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at Harmony House where she had been a resident. Born February 27, 1922, in Sheboygan, Beulah was a daughter of the late Avery and Emma Kuehn Buss. On November 16, 1946, she married James Sweeney. Beulah worked for Cranberry Products of Eagle River for several years, but her true vocation was caring for children. She loved to care for and nurture children as she babysat for them. Beulah knew what hard times were growing up as a child and yet never lost faith, hope or her good loving nature. The few blessing she was given in life she choose to multiple and give back to those who she felt had a greater need. Loving, caring, giving, are three words which start to describe Grandma Beulah. Her cheerful nature, great joke telling and love for children are just a few of the things that made her so special. She loved to dance, especially if she could Polka with her favorite band, The Jolly Slovenians. Beulah was a loving grandmother to Dick & TC McCarty; a beloved great-grandma to Sally (Ryan) Spangle and Peter (Andrea) McCarty; a treasured Aunt to all her nieces and nephews and a loving friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband James; two brothers, Rodney (Elaine) and Leonard (Betty), two sisters, Myrtle (Raymond) and Erna (John). and an infant brother, Rupert. Private family services will be held at Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service and burial will follow at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Dick and TC would like to thank Harmony House for the wonderful social environment they provided and thank the nurses, staff and volunteers of Hospice Advantage for the loving medical care and support they gave Beulah and her family. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
