Barbara J. Zimmerman

Barbara J. Zimmerman, 82, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday evening, March 26, 2022 at the Sheboygan Senior Community.
Born September 1, 1939 in Sheboygan, Barbara was a daughter of the late William and Caroline Stegemeyer Zastrow. She attended Sheboygan area schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School. On February 22, 1975, she was united in marriage to Richard W. Zimmerman at St. Mark's Church in Sheboygan. They were married for 46 years before Richard preceded her in death on February 2, 2022.
Barbara worked in the shoe department at Kohl's for many years before her retirement. She loved to cook, especially authentic TexMex food and watching the Gameshow Network.
She is survived by her children, Patricia (James) Quinn, Cleveland, Barbara (Michael) Walters, Sheboygan, Ronald (Teresa) Schroeder, Howards Grove, and Dawn Zimmerman, Sheboygan; her grandchildren, Ian (Autumn) Quinn, Sean (Lauren) Quinn, Jarod(Ginger) Schroeder, Michael (Amanda) Walters, II, Cody (Katie) Walters, Linsey (Jordan) Walters-Douglas, Amy Schroeder, Selina Reineking, Emma Reineking, Bela Reineking, Tessa Reineking, Justin Taylor, and Amanda Taylor; eight great grandchildren; her brother, Richard Zastrow; and her niece, Gretchen (Mike) Zastrow.
Besides her parents and husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Michael E. Schroder and Richard R. Schroeder; and her sister, Kathleen Zastrow.
Private family graveside services will take place.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sheboygan Progressive Care Center, especially nurse Chrissy, Jenny and the staff of Cedar Grove Gardens, the Sheboygan Senior Community for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Barbara's arrangements.
