Barbara J. Rommelfaenger, 76, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday morning, August 20, 2014 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Born February 10, 1938 in Unadilla, NY, Barbara was a daughter of the late Clare and Margerite Dewey Nelson. She attended area schools and graduated from Random Lake High School in 1956. On February 18, 1956, she was united in marriage to Roger A. Rommelfaenger in Sherman Center, WI. They were married for 36 years before Roger preceded her in death on December 1, 1992. Barb was a sales clerk in the shoe department at Sears for 15 years before her retirement. She previously worked at Bridal Village. She enjoyed working with her hands, especially in the garden, woodworking or doing cross stitch, crocheting, knitting and sewing. She loved reading and playing Farmville on the computer. She is survived by her children, Sandra (Rod Koeser) Rommelfaenger, Kiel, Roger (Mary Ann) Rommelfaenger, Sheboygan, Brenda (Al) Goddard, Sheboygan, Jeffrey (Lisa) Rommelfaenger, Neenah, and Debra (Don) Tofthagen, Sheboygan; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren: and her two sisters, Helen (George) Pfeiffer, Sheboygan, and Sharon Harkala, Chicago, IL. Besides her parents and husband, Roger, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Lorraine Allman, Anna Behling and Mary Carol Richmond, and a brother-in-law, Ronald Harkala. A gathering to celebrate Barbara's life will take place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Inurnment will take place in Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support. The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Barbara's arrangements.
