Barbara J. Keller

Barbara Jean (Wakefield) Keller, 85, of Montgomery, TX, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at her home.

Born September 15, 1932 in Sheboygan, WI, Barbara was a daughter of the late Cyril and Helen Bersch Wakefield. She attended Saint Peter Claver Catholic School, South Side Junior High School and Central High School.

Barbara was a home caregiver to the elderly, retiring after 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, gardening, and collecting antiques.

She is survived by her six children, Julie Volkheimer of Palmer, AK, Daniel Manthey of Denver, CO, Jerry Manthey of Cloquet, MN, David Manthey of Collierville, TN, Dale Keller of Adkins, TX, and Alan Keller of Montgomery TX; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; her brothers Onen Wakefield and Ronald Wakefield of Sheboygan, WI, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husbands, Carl Manthey and Bill Keller, her four year old son Michael Manthey, and an infant sister Delores Wakefield.

Funeral services for Barbara will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1132 Superior Avenue. Fr. Paul Fliss, pastor of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
