Arthur J. Magruder, 88, of Sheboygan, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 at St. Nicholas Hospital with his daughter by his side.
Born October 15, 1934 in Sheboygan, Arthur was a son of the late Arthur and Jessie Wilhelm Magruder. He attended schools in Sheboygan and Missouri. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959, stationed in Panama. He was united to Marlene Kudirko in Sheboygan. Then on March 30, 1985, he married Cheryl E. Guth Moeller at Ebenezer UCC in Sheboygan.
Art worked for the Vollrath Company as a Journeyman Coreman for 43 years before his retirement. He was also a member of the Quarter Century Club. He previously worked at the Garton Toy Company. He was also a member of Ebenezer UCC. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and belonged to the Sheboygan County Motorcycle Club. Later in life, he became an avid golfer and was a member of Town & Country and several golf leagues.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cheryl; his children, Anthony "Tony" (Gina) Magruder, Sheboygan, William "Bill" Magruder, Sheboygan, and Theresa (Steve) Trimberger, Plymouth; his step-son, Jason (Christine) Moeller, Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Angelina, Nicholas, Raymond and Lorren Magruder; seven great grandchildren; his sister, Jeanette Reinbacher; his sister-in-law, Dawn Wassilus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents and his first wife, Marlene, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Emma (Edgar) Skaggs and Violet (Leland) Lewis; his brother, Clarence Magruder; his father and mother-in-law, Duane and Genevieve Guth; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Wassilus and Kurt Reinbacher.
A Celebration of Life for Art will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Ebenezer UCC, 3215 Saemann Avenue. The Rev. Lorri Steward will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name for the American Heart Association.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Nicholas Hospital for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Art's arrangements.
