Anthony J. Scherg, age 43 of Sheboygan passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018 at his home as a result of complications from a liver transplant due to common bile duct cancer.
Tony was born December 9, 1974 in Sheboygan to Delwin and Joan (Brown) Scherg. He graduated from North High School and was employed as a Janitorial Manager for RCS Empowers. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. On November 1, 1997 he was united in marriage to Corry Pietenpol at Hope Reformed Church in Sheboygan. Tony was an avid Brewers and Packers fan, he enjoyed camping, fishing, playing the Bass for the praise team at Hope Reformed Church and drinking a beer with family and friends.
Tony is survived by his wife Corry, 3 sons, Ethan, Caleb and Isaac, all of Sheboygan, his brother, Allen (Michelle) Scherg of Sheboygan, his father and mother in law, Rick & Diann Pietenpol of Sheboygan, a sister in law, Terry (Zach) Buchmann of Mukwango, 3 brothers in law, Josh (Lindsay Dal Porto) Pietenpol of Waukesha, Anton (Holly) Pietenpol of Francis Creek, John (Heidi) Pietenpol of Sussex, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service for Tony will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Hope Reformed Church, 612 Ontario Ave., Sheboygan. The Rev. Bill TeWinkle will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in Tony's name.
Tony's family would like to thank the Abdominal Transplant Team, the staff on 8 Center, the Surgical ICU staff at St. Luke's Medical Center, the staff of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center and the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation service has been entrusted with Tony's arrangements.
