Anne Ibe (nee Margaret Anne Carey) died on Monday, November 13, 2017.
Anne was born in Mason City, Iowa on December 14, 1926. She was the daughter of Harold and Alexa Carey. The family moved to Sheboygan in 1935 and Anne attended St. Clement Parochial School, North High and the University of Wisconsin Madison.
On May 21, 1949 Anne and David Ibe were united in marriage at St. Clement Catholic Church. David passed away in 1972.
She is survived by 4 children; Christine (Jeffrey) Rotsch, Naples, FL; Kathleen McCandless, Grosse Pointe Park, MI; Karen (John) Griffiths, Golden Valley, MN; and David Jr. (Mary) Ibe, Fort Wayne, IN, along with 6 grandchildren Molly Rotsch (Eric Plummer), Andrew (Gillian) Rotsch, Lexie (James) Luangkhoth, Carly (Jay) Martell, Adam Ibe, and Angela Ibe; and 2 step-grandchildren, Maria (Kevin) Lyons and Kelly (Toby) Harris.
After her husband David’s death, Anne pursed a career in Real Estate, in which she was engaged for 28 years. She was a devoted member of St. Clement Catholic Church, serving in the Altar Society and the Choir. She was a trustee on the Mead Public Library Board for 18 years and member of the Friends of Mead Public Library. Anne was a charter member of the Shoreline Woman’s Club, serving twice as President, and a member of the Catholic Women’s Charity Club. As a member of the Sheboygan County Board of Realtors, she served on many committees and achieved the designation of Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). Her dedication to her Real Estate career was evidenced by the numerous buyers and sellers who trusted her to find their family homes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clement Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Friends may call at the Church on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of Mass at 1:00 P.M. The Rev. Matthew Widder will celebrate the Mass.
Anne’s children would like to thank Rhonda, at Sharon Richardson Hospice, for her devotion to and care of their mother. Mom felt comfortable and reassured in Rhonda’s care, as did we all.
A memorial fund has been established in her name at Sheboygan Mead Public Library, Attn: Debbie DeAmico, 710 North 8th Street, Sheboygan, WI 53081.
“No Sad Songs for me”, she would say. “Although I don’t know what the hereafter offers me, hopefully I will return to my beloved David, my one love.”
