Anna M. Nielson, age 89, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2013. She has gone to meet her beloved husband Anthony. Anna was born July 13, 1924 to Edmund and Bridget Shampaine in River Rouge, Michigan. She married Anthony K. Nielson on April 27, 1957 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Detroit Michigan. Anna is survived by her sons: Anthony Jr. (Mary), William (Lori), and Robert (Debbie); grand-children, Heather, Robert Jr., Zach, Anthony III, and Bailey; step-grandsons, Brandon, and Darrick. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Anthony (October 1984), as well as her two brothers Edmund Jr., and Henry. Before her marriage Anna lived in Detroit Michigan where she worked for Cadillac Motor Car Division as a keypunch operator. She was quite intelligent, and was responsible for a few improvements to the keypunch machines. She then moved to Sheboygan to be with her husband and raise a family. After raising her family, she returned to work as a nurse's aide at Rocky Knoll in Plymouth, from where she retired. In her retirement years she enjoyed traveling, cross word puzzles, word searches, and keeping her mind active. She was noted for her kindness to others, and believed in family and religion. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home, Dr. Bettag, Dr. Tauscheck, Dr. Zurich, and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, for all of their loving care and support to Anna and her family. Memorial services for Anna will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home, Sheboygan with Rev. Matthew Widder officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday (mistakenly printed as Saturday in the press) from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
