Alyda C. Grube, 85, of Northwood Court, Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday morning, May 28, 2013 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Born December 3, 1927 in Delta, IA, Alyda was a daughter of the late Peter Diedrick and Antonia Whilhelmina Pennekamp Hissink. She attended schools in Iowa and graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1946. She met Duwane H. Grube when he was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Ottumwa and were married at the Davis Street Christian Church on March 7, 1948. They were married for 62 years before Duwane preceded her in death on March 18, 2010. Alyda worked in the admitting office at Aurora Sheboygan memorial Medical Center for 18 years before retiring. She previously worked at Kresge's. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Steven (Luane) Grube, Carrollton, TX; Doug (Julie) Grube, Sheboygan; Lynn (Randy) Hobart, Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Whitney (Matt) Rehm of Texas, LT.JG Sean Grube, U.S.N. of Virginia, Kyle and Alyssa Hobart of Wisconsin; two great-grandchildren, Brylee and Tyler Rehm; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Scott; two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services for Alyda will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Lippert-Olson Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Avenue. The Rev. Jim Hollister, pastor of First Congregational U.C.C. will officiate. Family and friends are welcome at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Gardens of Peace Mausoleum. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of St. Nicholas Hospital 5th floor, the ICU, and Drs. Johnson and Bettag for all of their loving care and support. The Lippert-Olson Funeral Home has been entrusted with Alyda's arrangements.
