Alyce R. Quasius

October 14, 1919 — September 6, 2014

Alyce Rose Quasius died peacefully on September 6th, 2014 at the age of 94. Alyce was born on October 14th, 1919 to Frank & Rose Gebler of Two Rivers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings; Ivan, Louis, Marion, Donald and Allan as well as her loving husband Gordon to whom she was married for fifty years. She is survived by her three children; Lynda (William) Pautz, Michael (Catherine) Quasius, and Kristine (William) Desmond. She is further survived by grandchildren William, Margaret & Samuel Desmond, Melinda (Peter) Caliendo & Daniel Quasius, Jeffrey (Angela) & Michael (Lori) Pautz, seven great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Ene Gebler. Alyce graduated from Waldo High School and the Sheboygan County Normal School and taught in a one-room school house for several years. On November 23, 1946 she married Gordon Quasius of Sheboygan. The couple lived in Racine for 4 years, and returned to Sheboygan in 1950 where they lived the rest of their years. In 1954 they built their beloved cottage on Pigeon Lake where they spent every summer. Alyce enjoyed sewing and gardening, and after raising her children she took a job as part-time director of the Sheboygan Senior Center and later worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Morning Side Nursing Home. Alyce was a long-time member of Grace Episcopal Church of Sheboygan where she taught Sunday School and served on the Altar Guild and various other committees. Memorials to the church or Camp Sinawa at Pigeon Lake would be appreciated. The family will hold a private service to honor Alyce. They would like to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care she received from the staff of the Plymouth Care Center where she resided for the past 4 years. Olson Funeral Home of Sheboygan is handling the arrangements.
