Albert F. Sauter, Jr.

Al Sauter of Sheboygan Falls passed away February 17, 2021 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center where he had been a patient since February 11. He was 86.
Al was born October 3, 1934 to Albert Sauter and Emma (Liermann) Sauter. He grew up in Beechwood where his parents owned and operated the General Store and Tavern, as well as the Nash dealership. Al's childhood home became part of Beechwood Rest Home.
Al married the former Myrtle Pierce of Kewauskum in 1951. They were married 69 years. They raised 5 children: Kathryn (the late Al) Pease, Michael, Jeffrey (Kathie), Tim (Stacy) and John (Kevin). Al enjoyed his 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Al began his working life at Harnischfeger in Port Washington and tended bar at night at Smith Bros. Fish Shanty restaurant. He was employed by Simplicity Mfg. as a foreman for many years, followed by salesman at Rodewald Buick in Sheboygan. He then worked at Gilson/Lawn Boy/Toro in Plymouth as supervisor until he retired.
Al loved cars! Owning them, driving them, rebuilding them. He attended the annual car shows/swap meet in Iola for many years with friends and family. He also enjoyed hunting with his brothers-in-law and sons.
Al is survived by his wife Myrtle, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, two sisters, Marjorie (Dr. Earl) Jochimsen and Marlene (Jon) Neidhold, other relatives, along with his many fellow car-loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Reverend Charles Koch and Shirley Koch, much loved mother-in-law Margaret Pierce, and brothers-in-law Kenneth and Preston Pierce.
Per Als' wishes, he has been cremated and there will be no funeral.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Al's arrangements.
